Bass & Flinders Distillery Signature Gin
Bass & Flinders are committed to producing their base spirit, in homage to the heart of the distillery and their deep love for brandy. The grape eau de vie (un-aged fruit brandy) is produced from wine from local vineyards at the distillery, distilled using the traditional cognac double distillation method. The wine is distilled first to make a rudimentary distillate, then a second time to create a higher alcohol spirit with more refinement. The Signature Gin has a comparatively modest botanical bill; select botanicals are chosen to accompany the spirit profile rather than juxtapose. Lighter, crisp pine and green herbaceous notes mingle with the base spirit to give a grassy, sugarcane fresh nose. The juniper and lime awaken the palate and brighten the viscous texture, lemon myrtle shines on the finish, and unifies the drinking experience between nose, palate, and finish.
