Millsheds Distillery Salted Caramel Liqueur
{5f407f61-f315-4f78-84bd-b675714f1e60}
Unlike a lot of caramel liqueurs that smell and taste more like the syrup they use at the fish 'n’ chip shop to make milkshakes than actual caramel, this liqueur has the almost bittersweet coffee notes of the proper stuff you’d get in a restaurant flan. Light and sweet on the palate without being cloying, the salt is also there but not at all aggressive, and you’re not left with furry teeth from excess sugar. Some might want a little more intensity of flavour overall, but as a cocktail ingredient I can see this working really well to add sweetness and good, natural caramel flavour without blowing the other ingredients out of the water. That coffee note is also begging for some espresso martini action.
