Never Never Distilling Co. Ginache Gin
Paying homage to their home up in McLaren Vale, it makes perfect sense when Never Never created a wine-gin that utilises local Grenache fruit. It gives bold aromas of fresh, lithe berries, keeping the gin within the spirit range of alcohol, and bottling at 38% has helped to not only make sure the gin isn't lost with the grapes but has helped to amplify the fresher aspects of the grapes themselves. Brazen fresh raspberries, in particular, command the aroma of the gin. The more spice-forward botanicals of the Triple Juniper gin come to the forefront. On the palate, the raspberry drops off a little to make space for deeper red fruits, jammy strawberry, and plums. Juniper still stands out well in this bold style of gin, supported by a strong hit of citrus to carry through and create more intrigue in the spirit.
