This is a playful take on the traditional French Pineau, fortifying Sauvignon Blanc grape juice with their Single Shot gin, rather than brandy. The Sauvignon Blanc juice retains much of its sweetness, creating a light, joyful product. It gives an aroma of over-ripe blackberries and soft tropical fruit, with an incredibly inviting, Autumn morning feel. The light sweetness continues on the palate, like fresh honeysuckle that gently carries through the Pineau. More of the gin appears on the palate, and there's a hint of sharpness from the spirit that helps prevent it from being too sweet and keeps everything lively. Notes from the botanicals themselves begin to appear, there's a baked citrus element, as well as some of the more herbaceous gin botanicals. The finish presents a dusky, comforting floral aspect that slowly fades out.
