Morris of Rutherglen Tokay Barrel Whisky

On the nose, the slightly rubbery character of the Morris spirit feels like it's overpowering the delicacy of the Topaque cask in which it's matured, making it hard to find the soft fruit underneath. Still, it's there somewhere, waiting to come out of hiding with sweet flowers and gentle oak. There's more on the palate to love with some of that dandelion honey offering sweetness and light, making for a pleasant drinking experience. Still, that big spirit is riding roughshod over the wine cask. This could be an excellent whisky with a cleaner spirit and more maturity.
