It was impossible for us to ignore the growing number of submissions in this category, the variety now taking up residency at more than 100 wineries across the nation. While McLaren Vale is the epicentre, Heathcote and the Hunter Valley follow closely behind. The winning wine is a strong rebuttal to the saying ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’, coming from new plantings at Australia’s longest-running commercial vineyard, Dalwood Estate." – Katrina Butler
