Top red wines over $30

The list that follows forms part of James Halliday’s 2019 Top 100.

“The inclusion of five pinot noir and four grenache wines in an ultra-competitive line-up of high-class shiraz and cabernet sauvignon may seem unbalanced. But the justifications are the overall increasing age of pinot vines and discovery of new areas in Tasmania, and that grenache has been born anew with bright, fresh fruit flavours.”
