Our Review
One of the pioneers of the Granite Belt, with the second generation of the family Robinson now in control. One thing has not changed: the strongly held belief of the Robinsons that the Granite Belt should be regarded as a cool, rather than warm, climate. It is a tricky debate, because some climatic measurements point one way, others the opposite. Embedded in all this are semantic arguments about the meaning of ‘cool' and ‘warm'. Suffice it to say that shiraz and (conspicuously) cabernet sauvignon are the most suitable red varieties for the region; semillon, verdelho and chardonnay are the best white varieties. -JAMES HALLIDAY
