Johnston?s has two distinct vineyards: the Galbraith Vineyard (22ha), adjacent to the Oakbank racecourse, was planted in 1993 to chardonnay (12ha) and pinot noir (5ha) for sparkling wine, and cabernet sauvignon (5ha). In ?98 40ha was purchased in Balhannah, where 27ha of sauvignon blanc, merlot, pinot noir and shiraz had been planted by the Wenzel family (part of this production is sold to other makers).
