Evans Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley | We acknowledge the Ngadjuri and Peramangk people whose lands we stand on today, and now call the Barossa. We recognise the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to its land, culture and waters. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and point to the future importance of listening to Indigenous Australian Voices.

Our Review

Evans Wines traces its history back to the 1970s when the late, revered, Len Evans formed a small, separate (from Rothbury Estate) business with then general manager of Rothbury Estate, Denis Power. Then, and now, its principal focus was on exports, the wines coming from various parts of Southeastern Australia. It is now fully owned by a group of wine industry professionals, headed by the Calabria family (of Westend Estate), which has a majority shareholding. The wines come in two ranges: Nine Stones and Bulletin Place. Nine Stones is varietal (Shiraz) and region (Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Hilltops) specific. Bulletin Place is a lower-priced range of varietal wines without regional ascription. Winemaker Emma Norbiato has had over a decade of experience, previously working at Casella Wines, Lindemans and Penfolds. Exports to the UK, the US and NZ. -JAMES HALLIDAY
