Our Review
The seemingly indestructible Peter Lehmann (the person) died in June '13, laying the seeds for what became the last step in the sale of the minority Lehmann family ownership in the company. The Hess Group of California had acquired control in ’03 (leaving part of the capital with the Lehmann family) but a decade later it became apparent that Hess wished to quit its holding. Various suitors put their case forward but Margaret Lehmann (Peter’s widow) wanted ongoing family, not corporate, ownership. Casella thus was able to make the successful bid in ’14, followed by the acquisition of Brand’s Laira in ’15. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Place a booking for lunch during the warmer months; you can choose to sit on the veranda or lawn area, or in winter, just cosy up next to one of our open fires.
Dietaries are catered for on request, limited to gluten- and dairy-free, and vegetarian.
Light lunch options, local produce platter and flatbread, tea and coffee (menu can be seasonal request our latest menu when booking).
Group bookings can be catered for up to 20 people; prior bookings are essential.
