Shanahans

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The name Shanahans is a tribute to winemaker John Harris’ late grandfather, Jim Shanahan, in whose Magdala shed John made the label’s first wines in ’05. Now based in Greenock, John and his wife, Gemma, make a range of single-site and blended wines grown in their home vineyard and the wider Barossa and Eden Valleys. While other varieties including grenache, riesling and chardonnay feature, the focus is on shiraz, with subtle but undeniably Barossan expressions of the grape the goal. -ANNA WEBSTER
