Our Review

DOWIE DOOLE was founded in 1995 by Drew Dowie and Norm Doole. They had been connected to the McLaren Vale community for many years as grapegrowers in the region. Vineyard management is now led by champions of sustainable viticulture practices Dave Gartelmann and Drew Dowie. In May ’16, with winemaker and managing director Chris Thomas leading a group of like-minded investors, DOWIE DOOLE acquired 35ha of vines of the 53ha Conte Tatachilla Vineyard, book-ended by 50yo bush-vine grenache and grafted vermentino, aglianico and lagrein. In October ’18, DOWIE DOOLE purchased Possum Vineyard, including its vineyards in Blewitt Springs and 500t winery. Exports to Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the US and the UK. -JAMES HALLIDAY
