Our Review
Brothers Kym and John Davey planted and nurture their family-owned and sustainably managed vineyard on land purchased by their grandfather in the 1950s. Shingleback has been a success story since its establishment. Its 120ha of estate vineyards are one of the keys to that success, which includes winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in '06 for the ’05 D Block Cabernet Sauvignon. The well-made wines are rich and full-flavoured, but not overripe (and hence, not excessively alcoholic). -JAMES HALLIDAY
