Victoria | Nagambie Lakes | Nagambie and Heathcote: the traditional lands of the Taungurung people; Grampians: the traditional lands of the Djab Wurrung and Jardwardjali people

Our Review

While Sydney expats Rachel and Stuart Nix are based in Singapore, and working in other industries, it doesn’t stop them from orchestrating their Australian wine business. Besides, winemaker Matt Campbell is on the ground, crafting terrific styles with fruit from established growers in Nagambie, Heathcote and the Grampians. According to Matt, the wines are different, a bit quirky yet approachable and affordable, starting with the fun tier of pét-nat, rosé and an easy-drinking shiraz, moving to the higher end of roussanne and the syrah/grenache/mourvèdre blend. The wines are made at Crittenden Estate on the Mornington Peninsula, where Matt is also a winemaker. -JANE FAULKNER
