Our Review
Island Brook Estate entered a new chapter in ‘22 when it was purchased by Paul and Jill O’Callaghan. The two have undertaken a substantial program of vineyard, property and brand renewal. The 7ha estate, first planted in 1985, is also certified sustainable and is planted to chardonnay, semillon, verdelho, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Approximately 0.5ha of an existing chardonnay block has been replanted to Gingin clone, using cuttings from Stella Bella’s Luminosa vineyard, as part of an ongoing program to improve vine health led by viticulturist James Harris. Winemaker Simon Ding has overseen the wines since the first vintage under the new ownership after working at a full deck of WA wineries including Fermoy, Silkwood, Killerby and Flying Fish Cove. The renewed focus on biodiversity and conservation is reflected in the rebrand, with the phascogale emblem on the logo reflecting its native home in the surrounding jarrah forest. A waterway rehabilitation project is underway, incorporating weed control, revegetation and habitat improvement. -KATRINA BUTLER

We have 3 well appointed self-contained spa chalets on the property. Set among jarrah bush, and well located to explore all the region has to offer.

The accomodation is self-contained. Includes spa, veranda, BBQ, full kitchen, flat screen TV, nature walks and tranquility.
Chalets: 1 x king bed $350/night or 2 x king bed rooms $450/night.
Rammed earth vineyard residence: 3 king rooms plus pull-out sofa $800 /night
