After pursuing a career in insurance and law, the call of wine was too strong for Sydney boy Matt Eades to ignore, so he packed up his desk and enrolled in an oenology degree at Charles Sturt University. Upon completing his qualification, Matt headed south for vintages in the Yarra Valley and Beechworth, but with roots in the southern beaches of Sydney, Matt was keen to work closer to home. The tight-knit community, food and wine culture, and way of life in the Orange wine region of NSW appealed, marking the start of Amour Wines.
That was in 2014, and in a short four years Matt (pictured above) has achieved an impressive four-and-a-half star rating for his first appearance in the Halliday Wine Companion guide, as well as top reviews for his character-filled, cool-climate wines.
