But before you dive into the exhaustive list of Australia's best cabernet and blends, you can get to know the current winner of our Cabernet and Blends of the Year award – the 2024 Yeringberg from Yeringberg.

"This bracket is made up of the very best cabernet-dominant blends, including a number of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz blends, plus cabernet merlot, cabernet malbec and more. It was a tight bracket at the annual awards judging, with quality across the board, but none were more deserving of the win than the Yarra Valley’s Yeringberg." – Katrina Butler

A blend of 62/13/12/8/5% cabernet sauvignon/merlot/cabernet franc/malbec/petit verdot. A medium, very bright crimson ruby. A beautifully perfumed wine with aromas of dark cherry, violet, pencil shavings and a dusting of cocoa nibs. An essay in cabernet elegance on the medium-bodied palate with superfine, persistent tannins perfectly interwoven with the fruit. The more you swirl this, the more perfumed it becomes. A supremely refined wine. Drink now and over the next 10–15 years plus. – Philip Rich
