Apogee
Deluxe Vintage Brut 2022
Sparkling | TasmaniaPale in the glass with a fine, energetic bead and mousse. Aromas of green apple and citrus fruits alongside hints of crushed shell, clover blossom, freshly baked pastries, shiitake, sea breeze, ozone, flint and stone. It's all about precision and tension on the palate, the fruit propelled forward on a rail of crystalline acidity, gaining velocity before resolving in a gentle fan of citrus, grilled nuts and fresh pastry. It's in wonderful form. -
Meteora Vineyard
Madeleine Pètillant Naturel Merlot Barbera 2024
Sparkling | Granite BeltA blend of merlot and barbera. This is vigorous and savoury. Tart cherry leads on silty, peppery brown spice and some dried herb characters. Blood orange too, some lively, bitter-sweet vermouth notes chiming in. Rosehip tea finishes with a swish of fine, chalky tannin. Bubbles bubble on all bubbly and frisky, tight and racy, very refreshing. Dry finish, long and fine. This does a lot of good; a top-flight example of the style. -
Pirie Tasmania
Vintage 2021
Sparkling | TasmaniaA traditional-method blend of 51/49% chardonnay/pinot noir from the Kayena vineyard in the Tamar Valley; 4.5 years on lees. Pale straw with a fine, vibrant bead and mousse. Crunchy Granny Smith apple, peach and citrus fruit, a swell of fresh brioche and apple turnover notes. Hints of clover blossom and meadow flowers, sea spray, proving bread, crushed shells, crème fraîche and ozone. Stony, savoury and dry with pure fruit, plenty of mineral tension and drive and a sapid finish. Just delicious. -
Josef Chromy Wines
Tasmanian Cuvée Non Vintage
Sparkling | TasmaniaPale straw with an energetic bead and mousse. Aromas of Granny Smith apple, citrus fruits, clover blossom, almond paste, freshly baked pastries, clotted cream, sea spray, crushed shell and riverstone. Taut and febrile with a wicked lemony acidity and crisp, clear flavours of lemon, apple and pastry. Lots to like here, with drinkability and focus in good measure. -

Tasmanian Cuvée Rosé Non Vintage
Sparkling | TasmaniaPale salmon pink with a bright, energetic bead and mousse. Aromas of Granny Smith apple, redcurrant and citrus fruits, hints of crushed stone and shells, crème fraîche, apple turnover and fresh brioche, meadow flowers and sea spray. A little more citrus flows in on the palate, which is crisp and bone dry, with an impressive mineral focus and plenty of energy on the finish. -
Pirie Tasmania
Traditional Method Non Vintage
Sparkling | TasmaniaThe classic blend of chardonnay and pinot noir, produced in the traditional method, with 18 months on lees. Pale straw with an energetic, fine bead and mousse. Characters of crunchy green apple, peach and citrus fruits, hints of freshly baked brioche, sea spray, crushed stone, white flowers, grapefruit, shortbread and a flash of cut fennel bulb and lanolin. Taut and citrusy with gentle pastry tones and a stony, savoury mineral line. -
Tar & Roses
Prosecco Non Vintage
Sparkling | King Valley Central Victoria ZoneA different sourcing to the usual for the maker with a blend of Central Victorian and King Valley fruit. There remains plenty of lemon-sherbety zip and cut-apple freshness to this NV prosecco. Orchard apples, lemon citrus, grapefruit pith and quince. It is super dry, super zesty and made to star as an aperitif. Summer quaffing here it comes.
